Third-Party Integrations

LinkedIn integration

Where we provide LinkedIn reporting within CommsTally®, we may access data from LinkedIn using the LinkedIn API. This only happens when the integration is enabled and an authorised LinkedIn user connects an account and grants permission.

What we access from LinkedIn

Depending on the permissions granted, we may access:

  • LinkedIn Page (Organisation) details needed to identify the correct Page (e.g. Page ID/URN and basic Page metadata).
  • Page/Organisation analytics such as:
    • Page performance statistics (e.g. impressions, clicks, visitor metrics).
    • Follower statistics (e.g. follower counts and growth over time).
    • Content/share/post performance statistics at an aggregate level (e.g. impressions, clicks, engagement metrics).
  • Access validation information (e.g. confirming that the connected LinkedIn user has the appropriate admin role for the Page).

We do not access private LinkedIn messages. We only access data needed for Company Page-level reporting and analytics as described above.

Why we access this data

We use this data to:

  • Populate reporting dashboards and charts in CommsTally®.
  • Track performance over time (e.g. month-on-month comparisons).
  • Support troubleshooting and error handling (e.g. detecting permission issues or rate limits).

What we store

To operate the integration, we may store:

  • Authorisation tokens (and related metadata) required to maintain the connection.
  • Reporting results derived from LinkedIn analytics (typically stored as aggregated time-series metrics for display in dashboards).
  • Limited logs for diagnostics (e.g. error codes when LinkedIn rejects a request).

We do not store LinkedIn account passwords.

Who can see the data

LinkedIn reporting data is only accessible to:

  • Authorised users within 1284/CommsTally® administration, and
  • Authorised users for the relevant client account/tenant within CommsTally® (where applicable).

We do not sell LinkedIn data or share it with third parties for advertising.

Lawful basis (UK GDPR)

Where LinkedIn is connected via OAuth permissions, we process data:

  • to provide the requested service (performance reporting within CommsTally®), and/or
  • based on consent given during the LinkedIn authorisation process (you can withdraw this at any time by revoking access).

Retention

We retain tokens and analytics data only for as long as needed to provide reporting services and meet operational requirements. You can request deletion at any time.

Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect LinkedIn data, including access controls and secure storage of credentials/tokens.

How to revoke access

You can revoke CommsTally®’s access to LinkedIn at any time by removing the app from your LinkedIn connected apps/authorised services settings, or by contacting us using the details in this policy.
