Our voluntary work relates to growth and impact, primarily through comms, but also through governance and delivery advice to East Midlands nonprofit leaders.
For example, our founder joined Charity Link as a trustee in 2019, becoming Chair in 2024. The 150-year-old charity turns over £2m, governs a number of smaller charities and social enterprises, and has won a number of awards. It provides goods that support East Midlands people who are in financial crisis.
Elsewhere, 1284 helps run our own volunteer-led CIC supporting regional growth - SoundingBoard.
1284 sponsors organisations which support economic development (and those whose projects improve social access to economic opportunity) in Charnwood and Leicester.
Funding work schemes for children and young people with disabilities.
Using basketball to deliver positive life skills programmes in schools.
