We work with charities and nonprofits focused on building economic development or access to economic opportunity in Charnwood and Leicester.

1284 provides reduced rate, pro bono, and sponsorship support for selected community projects. Our approach is to work with people who support economic development in Charnwood, Leicester, and Leicestershire.

We use four pillars to help us manage our ESG efficiently and decide which projects we take forward.

HOW WE VOLUNTEER.

Our voluntary work relates to growth and impact, primarily through comms, but also through governance and delivery advice to East Midlands VCSE leaders.

One example is Charity Link. Our founder joined as a trustee in 2019, becoming Chair in 2024. Charity Linkturns over £2m, governs a number of smaller charities and social enterprises, and has won a number of awards. It provides goods that support East Midlands people in financial crisis.

Elsewhere, 1284 helps run its own volunteer-led CIC supporting regional growth - SoundingBoard.

Our retained communications service gives you an ongoing, strategic partnership with regular outcome reporting. Prices start from £1,600+VAT.
