1284 Communications has moved forward with further integration of its network of trusted expert associates.

The Loughborough PR consultancy has a group of long-standing partners, each of whom is an experienced industry professional whose services can be subcontracted to bring particular skills into 1284 client projects.

The move - which was formalised as part of 1284’s recent certification under ISO 9001 - means that clients benefit from a pre-approved, reliable, consistent approach to project management.

All six of the company’s new associates are longstanding 1284 suppliers, having successfully worked together on dozens of projects spanning everything from digital marketing and AI implementation, to public affairs and social change.

George Oliver, Managing Director of 1284 Communications, said: “We work with our six associates regularly and they each align with our values of agility, diligence, curiosity, and authenticity. Their contribution makes our projects richer, more impactful, and end-to-end.

“Our new associate model gives clients full transparency over who is working on their projects - as well as direct access to some of the East Midlands’ brightest and best creative and technical minds. Their skill and experience ensures 1284 keeps pace with technical solutions to the challenges our clients face.

“The talent and experience each associate brings will help us drive real results and make an even bigger impact for those we work with - delivering projects from ideation through to impact reporting.”

Each new associate has been carefully selected for their ability to bring specialist skills that extend and enhance what 1284 can offer to clients in-house:

  • Jim Willis, Co-Founder and Managing Director at Bulb Studios has more than 17 years experience of creating innovative, user-focused digital products for global clients.
  • Beth Walsh is a nationally published freelance photojournalist and former news photographer, capturing compelling visual stories for clients in sectors from healthcare to education.
  • Graham Barr, Director at Rugby Web Design, provides highly-rated web development, specialising in robust, user-friendly Webflow platforms for small businesses and community groups.
  • Chris Shaw is the award-winning Founder of Think Funding, bringing more than four decades of experience in ethical fundraising, impact reporting, and leadership development, with a proven record helping raise nearly £100m for UK social initiatives.
  • Rich Whitmore is an agency design and brand specialist with 30+ years at director level, shaping standout brand identities and marketing collateral for national and international clients.
  • James Ferraby, Co-Founder of Digital Planning, is an expert in AI, machine learning, and automation, leading transformative digital projects across complex industries.

“I would say that we would welcome our associates to the team, but they’ve all been working with us on projects in one way or another for five years now,” added George.

“The difference here is that our associates are now built into our ISO 9001 supplier list, with profiles and contact details featuring on the About page of our website so that visitors get a clear picture of the fully-rounded support available not just from 1284 but via its associate network as well."
