1284 Communications will join Leicester’s digital design community as creatives and developers gather for the latest Create Leicester event.

The quarterly meetup has grown into one of the city’s focal points for UX, product and digital design, drawing practitioners from agencies, in‑house teams and the local start-up scene.

1284 is one of the sponsors of this week’s event at LCB Depot - Full stack design: Lessons from an AI-first company - which will feature a talk and Q&A as well as networking.

Sumner Bhandal, Lead Product Designer from Draftwise, a legal tech platform that uses AI to transform how lawyers draft, review, and negotiate contracts will talk about building an AI-first company.

Sumner has worked with start-ups, scale-ups, and enterprise organisations to understand their customers, develop product strategies, and design digital products.

He will share practical lessons from shaping product strategy and defining user problems, to designing intelligent interactions and working closely with engineering and data teams.

For 1284, the event is an opportunity to listen to the challenges digital teams are facing - from explaining complex products to non‑technical audiences to differentiating in crowded markets.

George Oliver, 1284 Managing Director, said: “Events like Create Leicester strip digital back to what it actually is: people working to solve real problems with technology.

“As a communications agency, our job is to help teams tell that story clearly - not just to users, but to investors, partners and their own staff.

“Working alongside designers and developers on platforms such as our own CommsTally®  gives us a sharper sense of what really resonates, where the gaps are, and how better storytelling can help grow East Midlands innovation.”

The free event takes place 6-8pm on Thursday 26 March. You can register here.
