1284 account director, Amy Orton, was at the event to congratulate those recognised and hand out certificates.

She said: “The room was full of dedicated volunteers and community-minded people who all work tirelessly to make Charnwood a better place to live.

“Even as we sat waiting for the awards to be given out the nominees at my table were discussing more ways that they can improve the area and support on offer locally.

“Congratulations to everyone who was nominated.”

Since launching in 2022, the Charnwood Community Heroes Awards has grown in profile and reach, providing a platform to acknowledge the work of local volunteers and community leaders.

1284 has supported the event from the outset, seeing first hand how the recognition encourages ongoing community involvement and inspires others to step forward.

  • Supporting local leadership

  • Celebrating long-term commitment
