1284 has won a Silver Award at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations' annual PRide awards.

Founder George Oliver was shortlisted in the Independent Practitioner of the Year category of the Midlands awards.

The Gold Award winner was Alison Gallagher-Hughes, founder of Staffordshire-based Tillymint Communications.

George said: "It was great to be shortlisted for this prize a couple of years after the founding of 1284.

"Being on the list with a PR professional of Alison's experience was a boost and going through the process of the event was a good experience as well."

George became a CIPR Chartered PR Practitioner earlier this year. He completed the CIPR's Diploma in Public Affairs in 2021.

1284 was founded in July 2020 and launches its 1284START service for East Midlands start-ups this month.
