1284 founder shortlisted for Entrepreneur of the Year award

1284 founder George Oliver has been shortlisted for Entrepreneur of the Year at the Leicestershire Business Awards.

The award - part of the event annual event organised by the East Midlands Chamber of Commerce - recognises the contribution of a dynamic, creative and visionary business leader.

It seeks to define the qualities of successful entrepreneurship – from drive, ambition, vision and tenacity to inspirational leadership, creativity, inventiveness and confidence.

The 1284 nomination described the work done to grow 1284 since its launch in the summer of 2020.

Outcomes included doubling turnover, gaining CIPR Chartered status, winning the agency's first public tender, and launching its 1284START service for East Midlands startups.

George said: "I am proud to have been shortlisted alongside some great businesses and look forward to attending the awards night later in the autumn.

"There's been a lot done at 1284 over its first couple of years and I will be sharing that and future plans with the judging panel."

The other finalists are in the Entrepreneur of the Year category are:
