1284 director George is a former Editor of the Leicester Mercury and LeicestershireLive. He spent 15 years in regional journalism, including nine years as an SLT member.
George founded 1284 in 2020 as a strategic communications agency specialising in innovation and regional development.
He has a first-class MSc Strategic Leadership from Loughborough University Business School, and is Entrepreneur-in-Residence at the University of Leicester.
George is a Non-Executive Director at East Midlands Chamber and a Trustee of Charity Link.

She spent two years in NHS communications during the Pandemic, working on external comms and media relations for one of the UK’s busiest hospitals.
Amy specialises in use of human storytelling as a method of making local government and technical content engaging for general audiences.
1284 content editor Richard has more than 40 years’ experience in journalism.
After starting his career at the Coalville and Ashby Times, he went on to titles including the Peterborough Telegraph, Wolverhampton Express & Star, Derby Telegraph, and Lincolnshire Echo.
He was Editor-in-Chief for The Sentinel, in Stoke-on-Trent, before spending nine years as an educator on the journalism programme at the University of Derby. He specialises in editing and page design.
